Why Adjusted EBITDA Can Make an AI Company Look More Profitable Than It Is

Adjusted EBITDA can be useful, but AI companies may add back depreciation, stock compensation, and other large costs. GAAP and non-GAAP can diverge sharply.

Adjusted EBITDA answers a narrower question than net income

The first step is to define the metric precisely because finance terms that sound intuitive often have specific accounting boundaries.
