Bloom’s revised taxonomy gives AI tutors a practical way to move beyond recall by generating tasks that require understanding, application, analysis, evaluation, and creation.
AI learning systems should treat feedback timing as a design variable: some errors need immediate correction, while other moments benefit from reflection, self-checking, or productive struggle first.
Retrieval practice becomes a powerful AI game loop when learners repeatedly produce knowledge from memory, receive targeted feedback, and revisit material after spacing.
AI tutoring should sometimes make learning harder on purpose: spacing, retrieval, interleaving, delayed help, and fading support can improve durable learning when difficulty stays achievable.
AI scaffolding should begin with strong support for novices and deliberately fade prompts, worked steps, and hints as evidence shows the learner can perform independently.
